HP question (yeah I know, this is the TEK forum :-)

Guys I am about to buy an HP608C VHF Generator (real boat anchor).

First of all I am looking for the manual in pdf, it's not at the BAMA site. Anyone able to help? (send to tubes.leonard@...)

Then, HP made them in two colors, pure(marine) grey and a kind of aubergine-grey (grey-shade of pink/purple) which is the latest? I thought the plain gray is newer than the aubergine color, is that correct? I have the choice from both.

Anyone that can shine some light on this? I need to make sure I choose the right one from the two..Cosmetically they both seem to look OK.

Thanks Leonard

I think you're right about the grey being newer. ?I had a bunch of HP 410B meters a few years ago, in various colors, and I think it was determined that the purple was the oldest of the three colors.

No, there's no 608C manual there, only a Service Note. I have a photocopy of a 608C manual;
if you still need it, contact me off-list and I'll scan it as time permits.
