Thanks for that info.

That explains why Bob Parker's name comes up so often in this context along
with Dick Smith's name. Bob's design is wonderful and his user interface is
truly brilliant.

Every time I design something I try to think like Dick Smith. He
designed a circuit that was so versatile its uses are limited only by
the user's imagination. Look in the archives for other things it can
do. He simplified the 'user interface' down to a single tiny
pushbutton. There are no knobs, dials, pots, or switches. A single
pushbutton does everything. I can't think of any other piece of
electronic test equipment that doesn't have at least an On/Off switch.
