I make my own. The Leviton No. 5269 fit the frames with no modification. They fit, barely but it is not a force fit

David Holland beat me to the punch. The air conditioner extension cords sold by Lowes are a perfect solution once you shave off the little nubbin on the female end next to where the D-shaped earth connector is. They come in many different lengths, they are inexpensive, and you can buy them in almost any hardware store beside Lowes. I wish everything was this easy to replace on Tek equipment. It is a 3 prong MALE plug sticking out the rear of the instrument with a plastic shroud around it to prevent you from touching a hot connector. There may be pictures of the connector on the back of the instruments Sean mentioned up on TekWiki so you could see for yourself what they look like. They were not un-common until the mid-1960s where the danger was more appreciated and where we switched to worldwide 3 prong power cords that adhered to standards like the IEC 60320 or NEMA power plugs which are also used in the US. This sounds like a much more expensive and more time consuming solution than buying an Air Conditioner extension cord. You should try the simple solution the next time. I think you find it is so simple you will use it every time from now on. Dennis Tillman W7pF -----Original Message-----

To paraphrase Douglas Adams (author of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy) "If you want to survive out here, you've got to know where TekWiki is at all times". It has the answer to everything Tek made that you want to know more about. Dennis Tillman W7pF -----Original Message-----

I need and another extension cord, always have need of extension cords. Plus the cords are a smaller gauge and considerably more flexible, like the original cords.Yup i;m old enough to remember them. Don't get your panties in a bunch :) We are incredibly fortunate to have our own staggering reference library - TekWiki. An encyclopedia can give provide you with a staggering amount of information. But reading an encyclopedia from end to end and being and comprehending everything you read is not an efficient way to learn anything. The combined talent and expertise of the TekScopes members can tell you what information is relevant, how to use the information that is available, and what you should ignore as irrelevant so you don't have to read the entire encyclopedia to find the answer you seek. The members of the vintageTEK Museum worked at Tek and have the "ground truth" to know what is important for preserving the Tek legacy. TekWiki, TekScopes, and the vintageTEK Museum are three entire different resources that each have their strengths. We are so fortunate that we have these three resources to help us pursue our passion. Dennis Tillman W7pF -----Original Message-----

Hi All: If you head over to the Azur Electronics Website, at: You can see where he is replacing the Tektronix male plug, on the back of a 184, with a CE222 (just the European version of the IEC male plugs; but, for 2220V.) In my opinion, I wouldn't mod a 184 like that. I've also seen two conductor zip cord soldered onto the pins of those male plugs... ya, don't do that, its so uncool... and dangerous. This message appeared a couple of days after I made an eBay purchase of 5 1 foot long cords for $9.99+tax. I was aiming for the lowest possible cost. I figured 1 foot was the right length for me since my power strip would be under a foot from the back of the instrument. They are expected to arrive this week and I don't think I'll have any problems cutting them to size. A 575 Curve tracer will get one, A 067-0532-01 Constant Amplitude Signal Generator will get another. I even think I can cut one to fit the 2 prong connector on a 130 LC Meter.
