7000-Series Book Second Edition

Good evening Guys,
I released the new edition of my book about the 7000 Series, more than 800 pages completely rewritten.
It is still free and available from my web page (www.k100.biz).
Enjoy!
Gianni

Here is also a small video to present the new book published by Elektor about Tek restoration

Gianni,
Was able to download your second version of the 7000 series. Thank you for your desire to keep these instruments alive with all your detail photos and description of operations.

Craig Cramb

Thank you Craig!

Hi Gianni, downloaded just the 2nd version of the 7K scopes book. Enormous in size but well worth it and a a joy to read.
Thanks for all your work and to share it with us, and don?t forget to warm up the K100 if you have any spare time ;-)

Gianni,
Every time I look at your books, I am just blown away by the quality and the amount of work you put in to produce such quality. I have done a smattering of such work (at a far less professional-looking level) in a past life, and until you've done it, you cannot comprehend the amount of effort required. You are a GIFT to this hobby and interest! Thank you. I have the new book downloaded and am now going through it. Again, thanks for the superb work!

Wayne

Gianni,

Whoa.

I just went to download the Tektronix 7000 ebook (I have a particular love for those and own several) and saw your BMW K100 page.

I used to own a K100 and it was arguably the finest motorcycle I have ever owned, neck and neck with the BMW R1150GS that replaced it when I moved to a place where I needed off-road capability to get to and from my home.

I loved that K100 RS.

Thank you for your book and your passion in writing it, Gianni. I?m also a TEK and K lover, but I don't have much free time to work with. I would like to study the analog internal workings of the jetronic one day, but there are a lot of custom bosch chips and little information, but that's another story. I recently received a 7854 that I just fixed up and I'm looking forward to hooking it up and making measurements with it. I think there is a printing error in the graph on page 257 (7A22 CMRR, 20mv/div-10mv/div, should be 20mv/div-10V/div)

Best regards!

Fantastic book, thank you Gianni!
You mentioned 7104 the Starship a few times there. I wish to know more
about that incredible machine's history as it's still one of the major
tools on my bench. Did you mention it elsewhere or maybe it is planned in
the third edition?
Thanks again,
-Andrei

Thanks Andrei!

I would….! But finding it it is not easy, and however very expensive.

IMHO, the most interesting part of the 7104 is the MCP CRT.

You can find a description of it in the draft of my next book. You can take a look at its preview here: www.k100.biz/ebooks/11302lr.pdf <>

Yours

Gianni

Hi and thanks, also for the fix!

I gave up with motorcycles, I am too old now to risk… but the K100 will be one of my best memories ever.

In return I have a lot of time today for my silly oscilloscopes… ?

Yours,

Gianni

Hi Dave,

K100 has been part of my life, IMHO one of the most disruptive motorcycles in the history. I suspect that someone in BMW understood that the boxer was much less expensive to produce and then the worked to “brake” the K project as before they pushed it.

A beautiful part of my life!
