465M parts

After repairing my old 465M, I got a bunch of spares that I can give away. If you are in the bay area, I can arrange for you to pick up from my home. If shipping is involved, I will use FedEx or USPS with tracking and charge actual costs.

1. Main board with Power supply complete. Has a good HV transformer but U 550 block is defective. These are already mounted in the case with item 2 below.
2. Time base-known to be faulty but may have usable components.
3. 2 CRTs for this same scope. One works and the other is unknown.

If interested, please PM for info.

Thanks.

I believe these are all spoken for by two people. Will update as it goes.

All items are gone. I hope they will be of some use to the gentleman who took them. Thanks for the quick response and pick up.

Rats.? I have a 455 that's been needing attention for a few years now,?? Basically, no HV (a probe slipped).? I was hoping maybe the 465M base could be swapped in.?? Failing that, since you seem to be local (for fairly large values thereof), perhaps some two-heads-are-better-than-one troubleshooting could occur?

I have not checked the 455 diagram. If it is similar to the 465M, I would start checking the voltages first. Assume you have checked all the fuse. Where exactly did you slip the probe?

Check 32V Unregulated supply in particular. Check Fuses F736, F746 and F768. A slip of the probe can open one or more of these. 32V unregulated is most likely dead and this will kill the HV section. These fuses are "conveniently" located at the rear of the A1 board and are not east to reach or replace.

Interesting! Unlike the 465M, the 455 has no fuse in the HV Oscillator supply. In fact it shows as a jumper in place of the fuse. That could blow up a few things easily.

Did you check the 32v unregulated supply voltage? There is a jumper, but there is also definitely a fuse in the 32v Unregulated supply located on the A1 board. Check the 455 POWER SUPPLY schematic, see F736. 32V unregulated supply feeds the HV transformer T550, if F736 is blown, the HV transformer does not receive any power. No power to the HV transformer, no HV. The 32v supply will also be out of action, as the 32v supply is also derived from the 32V unregulated supply. I have a 455 and I had this very problem with mine.
