Does anyone have any info on the 2466B scope?

Hi all.

I came across a Tek 2466B scope for sale and am trying to figure out where it sits compared to the 2465 and 2467 series of scopes.
I can't seem to find any real information on this model online and was wondering if anyone knew anything about it?

I would really like to get a 2467B eventually, but I'm wondering how this 2466B stacks up.

Can anyone shed any light on this one?

Thanks!

From what I see on Teks FAQ, its 400 Mhz HDTV high brightness. So perhaps a
different CRT and ??

I searched using Tektronix 2466, Tek called it a 2466BHD

Wow, not much info out there!? ?I think the 2466BHD might actually be a typo (2467BHD).? I looked at all the catalogs I have and found no mention of it.? Could it be an asia-specific model?? (not sure why, except most references are asian, as is the cal sticker in the tekwiki photo).? A few references turned out to be OCR misreads.? Good luck!

Yeah, I think it might be an Asia specific model (It is being sold here in Japan), but information seems really scarce, I 'm not too keen on buying an unknown with no service info (Although, it's probably 90% functionally identical to a 2465)
It is definitely a 2466B as per the front label, and looks the same as a 2467B, but with a black surround around the CRT that appears slightly smaller than a 2465 CRT.

Here's the listing with some average quality photos.

I just want to figure out if this one is worth taking a punt on, or if I should just wait for a 2467B to pop up. I like the idea of that special CRT in the 2467B. :)

Sounds like a MCP 246x scope!

At 78 dollars, seems like a goo buy just for the parts.

Ok, so after digging through some Russian forums with Google translate, it seems it is likely to be an Asian (Japanese?) model customised to be a hybrid 2465/2467.
It seems to have a different tube that isn't MCP like in the 2467, but is brighter than the standard CRT in the 2465.

Apparently it's something Sony used to do sometimes. This one has a smaller screen size and it's also run at a higher cathode voltage to get the increased brightness for taking photos more easily it seems.

Can you take some pictures? Thanks for the info!

I will certainly take photos if I buy it! :)
