422 AC power socket

Picked up a 422 in pretty good shape but it didn't come with the AC power cord. It needs a round female socket (nema 15-5R) that's about 30 mm or 1.81" in diameter. The smallest I've found online or in the vintage scope restoration aisle of Home Depot is about 35mm or 1.38".

Getting tricky using alligator clips on the pins for power. Does anyone have the correct item for sale or can refer me to a source?

Thanks,

John

(I guess I could convert it to an IEC but I'd really prefer to keep it original)

Just use a 30mm cord grip and solder a cable.

The non AC/DC version of a 422 needs the same kind of cord as most weed whackers n shit. I have had a few where I had to trim the edges a bit but they connect and they are safe. Some brands f them you don't even have to round the corners off.

Now if you got an AC/DC model that is a whole different story. If you really can't get the cords for those I reluctantly suggest a modification. There are many ways to do it.

Funny coincidence as I was out in the garage yesterday and saw my hedge trimmer cord. 10 seconds with my pocket knife and I now have a 50' power cord!

Thanks everyone for replying.

Agree with Jeff for 422 AC, just look around hardware and you might find one to fit without trimming. I trimmed a couple extension cords for mine.

Fifty feet ? Nothing, I got batteries !

LOL

But if I ever need a cord I have no idea where to get one and I don't even have the DC cord. I reluctantly recommend a modification - to myself. Hell, it's only 2 wires.
