7417 is open collector output. Did you put a pull-up resistor on each output? It won't work if you don't. Rick ====================================================================

I remember those well from my USAF days, a very long time ago. Mouser carries them, made by OK Industries. Search on "burnisher".

back in the old days of rotating tv tuners we used to purchase a small metal abt 3/16x1.5 inches abrasive contact cleaning strip about a s thick as a matchbook paper striking piece which also worked

You could use another suitable spectrum analyzer to do this measurement. You should also be able to use a scope with an inline 50 Ohm termination and using some basic maths. Dean

Does it do that with the vertical plugins removed? Do the vertical select buttons on the mainframe have any effect? Something is wrong in the vertical, could be anywhere up to the CRT plates so you
