Re: Speaking of curve tracers
Dennis, Thanks for that information. I think I downloaded the two documents you mentioned yesterday and started pawing through them. The one with the black screen shots I have for sure. ;-) I'll dig

i do not agree, measuring ESR in circuit is only an indication, most ESR meters re only indicators who have problems measuring accurate under 10 uF because they do not measure the phase difference but

465B cover question
The cover for a 468 will fit a 465B/DM44. The cover for the 468 will fit a 465B without the DM option but it will stick way up in the front.

You can use the metering circuit of a 7D13 to indicate any physical quantity or measurement that can be converted and scaled to a DC voltage that makes numeric sense. You can change the units by

Re: R7903 power supply problem
Use an ohm meter to check each of the LV power supplies for a shorted capacitor. See page 2-8 in the service manual. The supply is trying to start up into a short circuit on one of the supply

Re: Tektronix 465
The first couple of pictures showing the probe calibration square wave with some fuzz on it looks pretty normal if a source of HF noise is nearby. The width of the fuzz will change by moving the probe

R7903 power supply problem
I bought this R7903 at a local hamfest for $10. I'm going to try to see if I can fix it, mostly for the learning experience. I have had some minor experience working on electronics, but not on scopes.

The triangle was supposed to be a sine wave. I figure out what the problem is. It was the trigger! I posted new pictures. The traces are now thin and solid. The vertical is a little off, so I guess

Some things you ask about are easier than others. * The 7CT1N has no readout capability (hence the N suffix). It wouldn't be practical (or even possible) to add it unless you had the ability to make

To download trace information from a scope you need some way of digitizing the signal. That is why downloading of traces are usually only supported by digital scopes and not analog scopes. --Victor
