Re: TDS744A flicking
Hi, Thank you for your message and suggestions. As I mentioned, the acquisition board is shorted, and I have isolated the op-amps and, if I am not mistaken, some CMOS components connected to the +5V

Re: VintageTEK demo boards are back
FWIW, I'm starting to work on a version that uses an off-the-shelf MCU board, so no assembly is required other than connecting to the vertical and horizontal of a scope, and powering the board (via a

Re: Tek CT-6 current probe
Ed, David, thank you for the CM choke reminder. I needed this for 10MHz sinewave but it's a good idea to keep things tidy at the higher end. Leo

Re: Tek CT-6 current probe
I have successfully made a CT-6 replacement by taking apart an ethernet transformer (Bourns SM51108), cutting off the old windings and winding 10 turns of thin wire on the toroid. This transformer

Re: TDS744A flicking
I have not read all the other responses so apologies if this is a repeat. I owned a 744 once with the same hiccup behavior. The CRT driver circuit was bad. You report that you have (had) good VGA from

TDS3034 upgrade
Short question: Is the BW upgrade on a TDS3034 only possible with GPIB or is ethernet also possible?

That doesn't make sense? Show the display with the calibrator as input. Set trigger to Auto.

Re: Tek CT-6 current probe
Yup, a balun (CM choke) could be in the rather long section of the mechanical mounting structure between the small core and the cable connection. It would help with CMRR.

Re: VintageTEK demo boards are back
Joe, the board seems very simple to build. If the processor was programmed is there any reason we can't assemble it? Pretty sure we have the skills and tools to succeed! And it seems it would take a

Followed the SM instructions for 'No Display' but haven't made any real progress, other than getting a dot to appear on the screen (as opposed to merely glowing off-screen) by adjusting the R587

Re: Tek CT-6 current probe
Hi all, In addition to the obvious current transformer, there¡¯s likely to be a balun, to make the probe less sensitive to electric (capacitive) coupling. Thats¡¯ probably in the longer tail, away

Re: unresponsive 492; possible memory issue
Check the CPU's reset line. It's driven by an optocoupler on the power supply board, as I recall, and the resistor that drives the LED side of the optocoupler can open up. -- john KE5FX
