Re: DSA 602, Still Relevant Today? Untimely response FWIW
I have over the years had a couple of DS602¡¯s. I found them wonderful scopes to use and play with. They can do so many different things than an analog scope. The user interface was extremely easy.

Re: Softening and stretching Tektronix scope covers
Thanks for the suggestions. I am a bit aware of aging plastics exuding their plasticizers, shrinking and stiffening up. Armor All does work, especially at warmer temperatures, but I have had a few

Re: Softening and stretching Tektronix scope covers
You may want to first try some kind of solution of polyvinyl alcohol to make the material more supple. That should be low-risk and you can probably wash it off if it doesn't help.

That is a fine collection. I recognize, have worked on, or have many of them. The customized cases on some of them are quite interesting too. I have seen some pretty good customizing at TV stations

I have DSA602A scopes at home and enjoy using them. The flexibility of various channel voltage and frequency options is very useful along with their waveform definition entry, averaging/persistence

Re: 7844
Mark,
You are correct about the parts and board number. Also R2326 and R2336.
On the A21 and A22 boards, the 9100 ohm 1/4W and 20k pot are known to go bad due to being run beyond the rating of the

Re: 7844
Mark,
Thanks for the tip, but I am unsure where the d-c restorer diodes are, but I think you mean CR2352-55 and CR2342-45 and R2356 and R2346, all on the HV board A24?

The d-c restorer diodes are bad, replace all of them with 1N4937. Also replace the 22meg 1/4W carbons with Vishay VR37 series, 594-5053DM22M00F. Get 10 of these to replace the 8 in the supply or
