CG5011 Self Test Start-Up - Relay Freakout

Re: Which Torx Size must I buy to refurberish someTM5000 Series Relais
Eggie,
Nice! That set is much better than what I have. I just have some generic small size bit kit I got from Amazon - very cheap. But it does come in handy. I need to get something a bit more

Re: CRT
Pretty much any CRT from the 22xx series of scopes will suit your needs.
I can get a parts 2215 for a low cost (I think), but I'm not sure.
I'm not in France though so that is a problem.
I wish you

Re: Which Torx Size must I buy to refurberish someTM5000 Series Relais
Hi Frank,
I bought then a Wiha PicoFfinisch 267P Set (T4-T9). Excellent Set. By the way Torx Drivers also fit Allen/Hex Setscrews in a superior way. Very handy when you must use force in releasing

Tek 453 momentary beam
I inherited a Tek 453. It was very dirty. When I press the beam find button I can get a momentary dim spot near the center of the CRT, but only a flash. What should I look at?

Re: Tek 2465 power supply cycling
Are you familiar with the (typical) tantalum capacitor problem in tek equipment of that age?? The manufacturer said that the parts were good working too close to their voltage limit.? i.e. a 6.3

Re: Tek 2465 power supply cycling
These power supplies use comb-like structures, connecting PCB's. The comb's square pins reach into hollow square "tubes". Good contact between pins and tubes is dependent on a tiny spring inside each

Sorry I know this thread is super old, but I'm looking at these relays (148-0128-03) on a CG5011 I am trying to repair. I used a T4 bit to remove the screws. so it seems Torx T4 would be the correct

It is nearly impossible to troubleshoot this power supply.
I can see why people shotgun replace all caps.
I cannot find any reference in this forum on a fault being traced to a specific capacitor.
