Re: 576 arrived with bad CRT... total dead end?
Hi David, I'm so very sorry to hear about your trouble. Believe it or not, I had a very similar experience with acquiring my 575. If it is any consolation, I paid EXTRA to have mine "professionally"

Re: Help with diagnosis of Tek 2465 Power Supply Problem
Thanks for the further clarification. It is very very helpful. According to the document at http://skory.gylcomp.hu/alkatresz/tl494app.pdf the error amplifier has frequency response plot in Figure 13,

Re: 576 arrived with bad CRT... total dead end?
David, If you bought this through eBay, I would file for a refund. Put it back in the box and send it back. You're better off finding another one in good condition rather than say, accepting a partial

Re: 576 arrived with bad CRT... total dead end?
David, So sorry to hear about your Tektronix 576. Reminds me of my Tektronix 531A situation a few years ago. Seller wrapped the scope with 1 layer of bubble wrap and then wrapped it with cardboard

Re: 576 arrived with bad CRT... total dead end?
Yeah I'm pretty sold on a 576 being the best thing for my needs, but this has sure made it difficult. With the time difference added on top I haven't even been able to discuss my options with the

Re: 576 arrived with bad CRT... total dead end?
I have gotten on shipped like this as well. It boggles the mind. The CRT of the 576 is unique unfortunately. I have 2 here in stock but both of them are waiting on a rejuvenation experiment. Both

Re: 576 arrived with bad CRT... total dead end?
Yeah it's not looking good at this point! It'd be stupid enough if the seller had no idea, but I SPECIFICALLY told him about the CRT thing and asked him to put adequate shock absorption around it, so

Re: 576 arrived with bad CRT... total dead end?
I winced upon reading your description of how stupidly it was packed. That crt is physically unusual (10x10, instead of, say, 8x10), which is why it's unobtainium. Electrically, though, it's plain

576 arrived with bad CRT... total dead end?
Following on from my other thread where I was awaiting delivery... ... my 576 arrived today. As soon as I popped the lid on the crate I knew things were bad- there was zero padding between the crate

Well, looks like I'll need an external display sooner rather than later... my 576 just arrived with a smashed screen.

Re: 2465 Calibration Completed but boot still fails
I looked at your video and it is not similar. Mine is showing very regular dots all the way across the bottom of the screen. This usually means the scope is not calibrated.

Re: Help with diagnosis of Tek 2465 Power Supply Problem
--- That is what I guessed in my reply. U4 is wired for over voltage protection so it is OK it be be on/off. When over voltage at the primary happens it needs to turn off the switcher. U2 is the one

Re: 2465 Calibration Completed but boot still fails
May be way off topic but I did have what could be a similar situation many years ago with what appeared to be dots on the screen trace. I did a quick utube video "2465B Trace Possible Z-Axis Issue",

Re: Leo Bodner Fast Rise Pulse Generator for 453 & 547?
Zen, I did make some progress with the 067-0521-00 Calibration Fixture on my 547 and need only remove a small dip or 'anti-bump,' if I may, in the first 10 nS of the top of the square wave. Otherwise,
