Dear All, I am trying to fix a Tek 577 for some time. After a LOT of work I think I have been able to fix all major problems of the unit and go through the calibration procedure. One minor issue I

Re: 744a
I remember when I was in that situation, Facebook Marketplace cured that symptom. Anyways, amazingly there are many that might be in your local area that don't advertise the best that might even

Re: Fixing a PS502 that blows the fuse in the TM500 power module
Murchison, I thought that I had checked the bridge rectifier (CR10) for shorts, but either I had not, or I had not made good contact when doing so, because now I see that two terminals are

Have you checked CR10 for shorts?

Re: 547 HV Transformer Question(s)
I didn¡¯t get to that point yet. I¡¯m getting ahead of myself. I was just monkeying around with R544 and R566 to see if they had any effect. Many things were bad in this scope. I changed several

Re: 547 HV Transformer Question(s)
Hi Stephen, Which pots do you mean? Sweep lenghts are determined by internal trimpots in the Miller run-up circuits, calibration steps 24 and 44. Is time/div OK or also expanded? Albert

Re: Fixing a PS502 that blows the fuse in the TM500 power module
Oh, sorry: it is a PS502, dual tracking supply plus fixed 5 V supply. Fairly empty inside. Here¡¯s the TekWiki page https://w140.com/tekwiki/wiki/PS502

PS502 or PS503? You've said both.

Fixing a PS502 that blows the fuse in the TM500 power module
I've got this PS502 that I've been trying to fix literally for years. I got it as a set with a TM503 + DM501 and DC503 from the surplus outlet of my local university (when I was still close to a

Hi Steven, I do not have a 547 yet myself, but from what I have read is that one of the main signs was that the trace would dim out making you turn up the intensity until the trace gets really dim

547 HV Transformer Question(s)
I¡¯m wondering what are the symptoms of a bad or failing HV transformers in these scopes. I¡¯m still awaiting for some more tunnel diodes to arrive (2.2mA and 4.7mA), but the trace is not very

Re: 465 non A or B Delay Time Position has no effect
I second Ozan's comments about the A+ and B+ gates (Top two BNC's on rear panel). You can connect these outputs to another scope and observe the action of the gate signals, This will tell you a lot

Re: 465 non A or B Delay Time Position has no effect
I added a picture of gate signals at back BNCs from 485, I don't have a 465 but I expect waveforms to be similar in delayed B mode. /g/TekScopes/photo/262059/3414406 Ozan

Re: 465 non A or B Delay Time Position has no effect
My comments are inline. I believe 465 has A-gate and B-gate BNCs on the back. If you look at both A-gate and B-gate on your 485 you can tell when A-sweep is running and when B-sweep is ru

Re: 465 non A or B Delay Time Position has no effect
Ok. A sweep...? normal sweep controlled by A timebase.? No intensified sections. A intensified by B:? precisely what it says.? A timebase. Brighter segment representing the B timebase interval

Re: 465 non A or B Delay Time Position has no effect
OK, I¡¯ve done some more reading¡ I know the ¡®B¡¯ time base is being delivered to the sweep amplifier because when I switch the HORIZ DISPLAY to B DLY¡¯D I can see my test signal on the screen
