Re: 465 non A or B Delay Time Position has no effect
OK, I¡¯ve done some more reading¡ I know the ¡®B¡¯ time base is being delivered to the sweep amplifier because when I switch the HORIZ DISPLAY to B DLY¡¯D I can see my test signal on the screen

Re: 465 non A or B Delay Time Position has no effect
Hello Michael I remember when I got my 453 in 1980 I had a Similar problem as the delayed sweep was not being displayed. Then I had to remember since it was being magnified so to speak I really had to

Re: 468 Trigger Slope Pot & Switch
OK, job done but not without a little anguish and a BIG co**-up! Caveat Emptor.................... I dismantled the pot to the extent seen in the photos and noticed the inevitable internal damage to

I can try to help, but I don't have a 465, so I will have to make general comments Ok, working in other respects is good.......

465 non A or B Delay Time Position has no effect
Good afternoon folks, I¡¯ll try to make this brief but still include as much pertinent information as I can. I have a 465, non-A or B model. I¡¯ve spent a few evenings replacing a few Ta¡¯s and

Re: 468 Trigger Slope Pot & Switch
That looks really interesting. I had assumed I needed to remove the just rear section to get access (which looks potentially tricky) but these photos suggest it is actually much easier! I will test

Re: Thinking on CRT restorations for double peaking tubes.
I have been very successful rejuvenating HP CRT's with a Sencore CR-70. They are available at a reasonable cost.

Re: 453 odd triggering
Hi, here my 2 cents: "Line trigger" is derived inside the scope from your grid frequency, mostly useful to look at things like grid ripple on a linear power supply, or a signal inside an grid tied

Re: 453 odd triggering
It could be that the calibrator happened to drift to some multiple (e.g., 20) of line frequency at that moment, fooling you into thinking that there was a causal relationship. There isn't. Again,

Why would you expect the cal trace to be synchronous with the line? -- Prof. Thomas H. Lee Allen Ctr., Rm. 205 350 Jane Stanford Way Stanford University Stanford, CA 94305-4070

Re: Type 547 Power Supply Question.
Please disregard my previous post. The voltages are perfect, my bad. I will, however, update as soon as the new TD¡¯s arrive. Hopefully in a few days.

Re: 453 odd triggering
If I understand what you're saying, the calibrator is not derived from the line frequency. It's a separate oscillator that's typically somewhere close to 1kHz. Thanks, Barry - N4BUQ

Type 547 Power Supply Question.
The 2x 10mA tunnel diodes in my 547 are dead (D45 & D245). While they were still in circuit, the -150V was perfectly dead on. I replaced R703 and R705 in the power supply that had drifted and were

Re: 453 odd triggering
It is STILL triggering ok from the line, but the signal you are trying to view is not in phase with the 50 Hz line cycle. Your scope is triggering fine, you just seem confused about how the scope

Re: 453 odd triggering
Well as far as i know its all derived from the 50hz mains as far as i know, its just i am certain it used to trigger ok from line a while ago.

Re: 453 odd triggering
Why are you surprised by that - setting trigger to line triggers on the mains frequency. Why do you expect the calibration signal to be locked to that? David
