Re: New 465 issue I posted a video
OK, if your test point voltages and ripple are "spot on", why are you measuring resistance to ground at the test points? This test is only useful when one or more supplies is out of specification or

It must be tricking my meter I¡¯m going to test again as I¡¯m seeing the correct voltages?

Re: New 465 issue I posted a video
Definitely should not be reading open. There might have been some charge in the caps that fooled your meter. They should read as a low resistance that increases. The recommended. but rarely followed,

Re: New 465 issue I posted a video
Well after checking every tantalum cap for a short I decided to poke the Low Voltage TP¡¯s. Checking for shorts to ground from TP¡¯s -8vdc, 5vdc and 15vdc I see resistance but no short. Then I test

Re: 5111A Horizontal BW limit.
Dave, More toys always sounds good to me (until I have to find somewhere to put them). I've been wondering if a dual beam scope should be added to my wish-list. I'll be interested to hear what your

Re: 5111A Horizontal BW limit.
Not really. The scope isn't the only thing with limited bandwidth. But I did pick up an interesting scope I'd found at a local surplus store this past spring. It's from an eBay seller I've bought from

Re: Patch cable for 7S12 015-1017-01 (750 pS)
One of the firsts things that you can check is the big difference beetween cheap and expensive 50 ohms load resistors, then you can measure if they are inductive or capacitive at high frequencies.

Re: 5111A Horizontal BW limit.
Dave, Have you made any progress on this? It¡¯s bugging me. I saw suggestion (in another group) that oxidized contacts could add capacitance to a circuit. I¡¯m not sure that there are any candidates

Re: 7704A, good deal?
Commenting on your photos is not easy because we don't see the whole story. The V-A, H-B picture showing the pulser output looks like what I would expect. On the "20 mV 50 ps" picture with the fast

Yes, I¡¯ve replaced them quite often in my equipment, just for good measure. But I can¡¯t recall seeing one in the 7723. I¡¯ll open it up this afternoon.

Re: 2465B restoration, what manual to use?
Hi Leo, Indeed with Heerenveen, Guernsey and Japanese production there is no comparison listing as far as I know. Board Numbers (e.g. 671-0965-05: A5 Controller Board) are more practical. With these
