I don't know if the 7B92 is very much different from the 7B53 series, but from what I read, when in AUTO, if there's no trigger signal, a capacitor (C786) stays charged that keeps the MILLER

Ok - got parts, made a thing, added pics to album. In this case: a pair of SR44 button cell "retainers".
(apparently a "holder" is a complete unit while the plain metal clips that capture the pos.

As a practical note, you can be bitten by that on slow trigger waveforms.? AUTO will self trigger before the waveform recycles.

In AUTO mode, the time-base is in a "free-run" mode which generates a ramp at the selected sweep rate

If you have a 1503 you might want to give it a try.? Less fragile and I think, more of a pulse amplitude.? It'll handle a 10 Km string of lights.? Would that be long enough?

I can see the end of the string when I short the socket for the
next string, but I can't see any difference when pulling LEDs
