I believe there is a long plastic actuator with angles that goes to the rear and moves the switch.? The switch itself is nowhere near the button.
The problem is either the switch itself is jammed or

As already mentioned, I have a new-to-me 5S14N. Yay.

Re: Timebase Question : Auto vs Norm Mode
Barry,
I'm pretty sure that you have misinterpreted how AUTO mode works, the 7B53A service manual (May 1988 revision) clearly says on page 3-9 "When the AUTO button is pressed, a weep is produced as

Re: Timebase Question : Auto vs Norm Mode
Jeff,
I don't know if the 7B92 is very much different from the 7B53 series, but from what I read, when in AUTO, if there's no trigger signal, a capacitor (C786) stays charged that keeps the MILLER

Timebase Question : Auto vs Norm Mode
I'm working on an 7B53N but I think this question applies to many/most scopes and/or time-bases.

Re: 1502 TDR RECORD functions
If you have a 1503 you might want to give it a try.? Less fragile and I think, more of a pulse amplitude.? It'll handle a 10 Km string of lights.? Would that be long enough?
