Re: Help with an ailing 7D14
Barry, Raymond, Yes, we're talking about Q130A/B and, well, now I stand corrected. It *is* socketed. At first, it would not budge so I thought it was soldered in. But after looking closely and

Re: Help with an ailing 7D14
Sorry, still not convinced, to say the least. On your image 20211104-072656_Burst01.jpg I clearly see 2 (or 3) socket pins under Q130's leftmost pins. Maybe if you try and wiggle Q130 a bit, you may

Re: Help with an ailing 7D14
That's odd. I looks like it's socketed to me as well. Are we all talking about Q130 (somewhat left and down from center in image 10 on your web page)? Thanks, Barry - N4BUQ

Re: 2901 owners, I need your help.
I have to disagree. I've been over every millimeter of of this unit and can find no part that is more than slightly warm, and those parts are the 22 RTL logic chips. So unless all the chips have all

Re: Help with an ailing 7D14
Looking at your photograph, Q130 doesn't seem soldered in. Its pins are individually socketed in "Berg" sockets, AFAICS. Raymond

I will be interested in following this. I have two 7D14s - neither of which work properly. I thought the problem with my first one might be with U329 and when I received the second one, I tried

Re: Help with an ailing 7D14
Jeff, Sadly, the Q130A/B double FET is firmly soldered in and I and loath to attempt to free it. If that DOES prove to be the problem, I will "screw [my] courage to the sticking place" as Lady

Re: tek 2215 trace position issues
It is not on the Main Board, if you look closely at the schematic there are some outlines for the Main Board and the 'Attenuator / Sweep Board'. Q736 is on the A12 board, 'Attenuator / Sweep Board'.

Re: Curve Tracer CRTs
Well, the vertical yoke at 60 hz can be mostly voltage driven, the horizontal yoke at 15.75/15.625 Khz needs to be current driven.? Given that you have the right driver, you'd be more or less

Re: Help with an ailing 7D14
It might also be the dual FET (Q130), just above and to the front of Q216 and Q218, clearly socketed in the board image on TekWiki, or the solder joins or passive components between FET B and Q218

Re: Help with an ailing 7D14
Yes, the fact that external input works means that the switch must limit the location of the fault, or the switch is the fault itself. The switch appears, from the pictures on TekWiki, to be a wafer

Re: AM503B & A6302 current amp&probe
The early A6302 has no hole and no trimpot. Instead it has a selected resistor inside (still exactly as in the P6302). See the manual 070-02897-00 at Tekwiki. W.r.t. AC only, you might verify at the
