Re: 2215A with no sweep
Hi Michael, Yup, as I suspected, a signal (1Khz sine) into the X input gives a full width trace across the screen and into the Y input gives a full width vertical trace so it looks like both the

155-0220-00 vertical preamps on ebay
Just letting you know there are currently a few of these left on ebay, in case you need one for your Tek 2335/6/7. Just ordered one for my 2335. Tektronix 155-0220-00 Hybrid IC, vertical Amplifier

Curve Tracer versus Huntron Tracker
Any curve tracer (even the venerable 575) can do everything a Huntron Tracker can do. In fact a Huntron is just a simple one parameter curve tracer. The thing that surprises me all the time is

Re: 7704A -just a quickie
Steve Ditter mentioned Bob Pease' Improved Short Circuit Detector the other day so I hunted it down. It is quite simple, portable, battery powered, and provides audible feedback as you get closer to

Re: tek 465 no sweep question
Make sure you check all supplies are inside spec for ripple with your loaner scope. One plausible cause for false triggering is PSU ripple. Good luck!

Re: Huntron Tracker's days are numbered (was: 7704A -just a quickie)
Some inexpensive oscilloscopes (B&K? Hameg?) have this capability built in.

Well, thank you! -and I'm not kidding. I wanted to ask about these things a year ago, but it did occur to me that I might get kicked off the list! If I haven't revealed my complete newbie-ism yet. I

Huntron Tracker's days are numbered (was: 7704A -just a quickie)
The underlying idea behind the Huntron Tracker is an old one and there are many circuit variations on the internet if anyone is interesting in building one or adapting their scope to do the same

Re: 2215A with no sweep
The trigger light does come on in P-P auto but of course, no trigger is present. I can get both channels to put a spot on the screen and both will move both vertically and horizontally with the

Tom's settings are good, I'd add turning up the intensity for good measure. You are correct to consider the trigger circuits as the problem in addition to the timebase. no trigger equals no sweep. If

Re: 7704A -just a quickie
Hi Mike, For many years I searched Ebay for a Huntron at a reasonable (<$200) price since, I thought, I must be missing something important. Fortunately I never found one at a price I could justify.
