Re: Tekscopes photos section
Yes, the "picture" part has not worked for a couple of weeks. It always gives an error message. Who can we contact to get it fixed? Thanks... Chuck

Hi all I'm trying to download some pics and traces from my (newly bought and fixed) 7104 - but for the last several days I don't seem to be able to get into the photos section of the Tekscopes Yahoo

Re: TEK DSA602 : DocuWave and WaveStar.
Hi Peter Wavestar 2.6 is normally downloadable - even though Tek lists a version for each product, they are all the same. Unfortunately, you will need the early version as you won't be able to select

Re: controlling DSA602 thru IEEE488
Scripting is a tortuous way to go about programming, but brunt of that falls on computer. If I had a choice, I would use C. Using Perl is like programming a VMS system using DCL. However, your

Re: controlling DSA602 thru IEEE488
Steve, Ahh, I see.. I did know what a star network config was but I failed to see how the GPIB cables could be used for that. I wasn't aware that there are m and f connectors at BOTH cable ends ! (

Re: controlling DSA602 thru IEEE488
Peter, Each standard GPIB cable has both a male and female connector at each end of the cable. This allows one to stack multiple connectors in parallel with the controller's GPIB chassis-mounted

Re: TEK DSA602 : DocuWave and WaveStar.
Erik, Thanks. How did you manage to have the TEK DSA602 controlled by DocuWave RS232 ? I failed with RS232 though I guess I wired the cable correctly. Besides, my DocuWave Readme says the RS232 for

Re: controlling DSA602 thru IEEE488
IMHO, the best way to drive GPIB instruments is using Linux (Linux GPIB) and Perl(GPIB) as the scripting language. I am doing that right now and I love the control I have. Just my $0.02 George H.

Re: controlling DSA602 thru IEEE488
GPIB is specified to 1 MByte/s, but there is some overhead. The older instruments (late 70s) were usually the bottleneck, but later on speeds improved. In these days transfer efficiency probably

TEK DSA602 : DocuWave and WaveStar.
A list member was so generous to let me have the DocuWave software to control the DSA602 thru IEEE488. Since I want to compare DoceWave with WaveStar I tried to buy WaveStar. It is still on the TEK

Denis, Thanks. Besides my DSA602 I have three more GPIB devices and I do understand a chain config. But I fail to understand a star config. How could I " star " connect from a central point when

Re: controlling DSA602 thru IEEE488
Peter, The maximum number of devices that can be connected to a GPIB bus is 14. I suspect that the speed of the data transfers will be limited by the DSA602, not the card that you use in a PC.

Hi Peter GPIB is much faster as it's parallel (instead of serial). You can run 32 instruments I think - you just star the connections from a central point (the connectors just piggy back on each
