Re: Troubleshooting 465Bs With Dead Channel 2
The channel 2 amp seems to be saturating full + signal. Now why? Since everything works fine with channel 1, then that part of the switch and the vertical amp are ok. So either the preamp is

Troubleshooting 465Bs With Dead Channel 2
I am troubleshooting a 465Bs which suddenly lost the channel 2 display trace. I have the appropriate Tek service manual and test equipment including another working 465B. My current troubleshooting

Re: 577 curve tracer and low-current looping
Thanks Andy. If true, that would explain the 7CT1N's cleaner trace at the sweep begin and end points too. Yeah, flying leads on sensitive measurements is a no-go for several reasons.

Looks good. And I happen to have some of those cells and some holders to use. Gonna have to look and see if I have any boost converters in my box of modules... -- Member of the toughest, meanest,

Mark- thank you...my "B" is low definitely will have to verify. Ren¨¦e

Re: 577 curve tracer and low-current looping
I can confirm the same behaviour on my 577 also. As I recall, the 7CT1N has a triangle-wave generator for the collector voltage, at a higher frequency than the line frequency, sine wave (or near sine

Re: A sick 465B
Renee, My 465 is <250,000 and my B is high. The parts for yours may be different than what I posted. As you know, look at the S/N to make sure yours matches the schematic. I know some have commented

Re: A sick 465B
Tom and others, Here is the list that was asked for. R7052- 1180 1W R7084, R7098- 910 1W (A 7A26 has one in it and a 7B92A has two that should be increased in wattage from original) R7281- 1100 1/2W

Re: 11802 timebase drifty / out of spec
Sorry for the delayed answer, only managed to write back today. So Adress 3E0000 in the Executive memory does not exist in my 11802. The ROM space only goes up to Adress 0x100000 I plan to contact Tek

Re: 577 curve tracer and low-current looping
Thanks for checking this on your unit, Dave. Yes, there's a step in the op manual to set the control to its "neutral" position. But this looping doesn't appear to be capacitance-related.

Hello Mark Vincent, Regarding your post ? ¡°If you are going to go further when you get it recapped, I can give you a list of resistors that should be increased in wattage.¡± I am in the process

Re: 577 curve tracer and low-current looping
That's pretty much identical to what I see on my 577 with a 2N3904 and the same settings. I dimly recall that there was at least a calibration step that verifies operation of the looping compensation

Re: A sick 465B
Jeff, You are right about the 78 being the Mouser prefix. I apologize for the confusion. Thanks for correcting me. The additional wattage of this zener is fine. The original is ,4W and not run hard.

Re: A sick 465B
Mark, I was no able to find the 85-BZX85B9V1 on Mouser, but I was able to find a 78-BZX859V1 which is rated at 1.3W. I haven¡¯t checked VR4421 yet, but if it turns out to be open, is 1.3W sufficient?

577 curve tracer and low-current looping
I recently put a long-dormant 577 back into service, got a transistor test fixture for not-too-silly money, and am getting to know the unit. Definitely more flexible than the 7CT1N. But worse in one
