Re: TDS3032 does not boot. LCD backl-ight and fan working.
Thanks Dave. I suspected that a bad NVRAM will let the scope at least get as far as the DPO splash screen. I guess I have a deeper problem. Can anybody else suggest where I should look?

Re: Russian Tunnel Diodes
Depends on the response of the scope you are adjusting. 1GHz at 350ps rise is as far as I go without sampling plugins, so a couple of transient wobbles at ~15GHz at 3% p-p really doesn't matter. So

Yes, Qservice sells CRTs, you could contact them about a compatible part. e.g. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Tektronix-2232-2235-2236-Oscilloscopes-CRT-In-Good-Condition-Part-154-0861-00/382662159109 based

Sometimes I do a "shakedown". All angles and shake shake shake. It'll get things out that compressed air won't sometimes. Sometimes I had to do it on some rather large TVs which might require help,

I have bought one or two off eBay. Don't forget that there are two sizes for the 4xx scopes - the short one fits the 468 and scopes with the DMM "penthouse". You also need to have a case with both of

Re: Smashed CRT on a 2215 - where to find a substitue?
There are several CRT that fit that scope some come with a different HV lead so don't throw the old one away yet before you know if you need to chop off the lead and use the one from the broken CRT.
