TDS 794D Logic Probe?
I'm wondering if there's a logic probe available for the TDS 794D. In the manual it lists the P6408 for all of the scopes in that family, but the TDS 794D. Does anyone know for sure?

Re: 7704A - Beam Finder in Horizontal Output
Hi Barry,
If you remove Q4304 does horizontal shrink to normal beam-finder size?
Do you see -15V in beam finder mode, and ~ -14.3V (0.7V above) in normal mode at base of Q4304?

Re: 7704A - Beam Finder in Horizontal Output
That part of the circuit was the first place I started looking. I think I already tried it, but I just now went out to the shop and tried swapping Q4304 from the working scopes and the results don't

Re: 7704A - Beam Finder in Horizontal Output
I was expecting a dirty beam finder switch but since it followed the board probably Q4304 has a C-E short.

Jon,
I have at least one spare Tek 2236 that works and is excess to what I need.
I haven’t powered them up in a while so let me make sure I do have one that
works.

Re: 7704A - Beam Finder in Horizontal Output
I decided to try swapping the horizontal amplifier boards between two of the 7704As and the problem followed the board. I expected it would but just wanted to make sure it wasn't something

Re: Looking for 465B or better near Harrisonburg, VA / JMU
It is relevant and helpful to your friend's purpose not to avoid the 465/465B as a replacement. And as another poster has noted, the 22xx series has its own issues. If your friend has difficulty

Re: Experiences / Improvements with 1L5
:D I understand.
Take your time. And uploading them also to the tek wiki is a really good idea.
Then they will not be lost.

Please don't hijack this thread with petty grievances.
This thread is for helping a friend find a new scope.
I am looking to hear from people who have one to sell. Nothing more,
nothing less. This

"Most?"
You've made that assertion before, but it's so completely at odds with my own statistics that a plausible hypothesis is that you've just made it up. I'd be interested to hear from the folks

Re: Looking for 465B or better near Harrisonburg, VA / JMU
I would respectfully disagree on the 2215: it sucks. I started with a $40 2215 from ebay, and have never looked back since going to the 475. I've had attenuator cam switch problems with the 475

Re: Looking for 465B or better near Harrisonburg, VA / JMU
Most 465/475/B eventually have failed HV transformers and HV multipliers.
Better to look for a basic more modern unit like 2235, 2215, 2236. Cost at the Ham Fleas will be ~ $50..15.

Hi Benedikt,
I'm actually re-doing the discriminator and oscillator schematics in Kicad. My pencilled notes were just too sketchy and smudged.
I might try uploading to a group file sheet by
