I'd forgotten about the Derby Melbourne - thanks for reminding me! Craig

For sure - I used to work at PA Technology, just across from Neve. The Technology Partnership and Automation Partnership are also there. And that is just off the top of my head. Craig

While your assertion is correct, his birth name was William Lamb and he became the second Viscount Melbourne on the death of his father, the first Viscount Melbourne. That title is associated with

Sorry but Melbourne, Australia was named after Lord Melbourne. Plenty of 7K plugins here though ;-) EJP

Re: S-2 sampling head fault symptoms
For what it's worth, I had great results retrofitting HSMS8202's into my 1S1. (One diode-pair per original diode.) They have been discussed before and seem to be the go-to part for sampling. Dave Wise

Re: S-2 sampling head fault symptoms
OK, I think it's time to go diode shopping. I've been experimenting with the least-faulty S-2 and it looks to me like there's signal breaking through into the preamplifier even when the sampling

Re: S-2 sampling head fault symptoms
Chris I would not bother with diodes like 1N4148 . I have successfully repaired S1,S3A and to my surprise even an S6 sampling head using HSMS8202 diodes from HP/Avago . These are cheap and easily

Re: S-2 sampling head fault symptoms
Thank you, I'll bear that in mind. I've now made an extender cable for the sampling heads so I can investigate what's going on inside them. Stupid idea: if I get to the point that I think my sampling

Re: More stuff found For sale, 7000 series on cart and 7834, many modules
Given the concentration of the local electronics industry in Melbourn, UK, I'm quite sure it's seen more 7k plugins than most villages ever do... Chris

My heart was "fluttering" as I thought that all these lovely 7000 series modules were in Melbourne and for sale .... then Fl registered in my brain ..... Florida, USA .... ..... #@$%&* ...... :)

7L5 spectrum analyzer extremely dimming the scope
Hi, while waiting for spare parts to repair my 7854, I acquired a 7L5 module. While working fine, it dims the mainframe (I tried 7834, 7854, and 7904A) enormously. I inserted the the 7L5 into right

Re: More stuff found For sale, 7000 series on cart and 7834, many modules
Unless you have spent the last 15 years testing this stuff you can't possibly know the operational status of all of it except the scope you mention.? Is it fair to assume that the rest of it is
