Re: 7L13 full-screen amplitude troubleshooting
After acquiring a TinySA Ultra which allows me to generate and analyze signals at higher frequencies than I've been able to, I decided to put my 7L13 back on the bench. To recap, with the 7L13 set

Re: SC502 with problems!
Ed, I agree. I have been working on this SC502 for quite some time. This was the issue when I put It aside a year ago. Thanks for the comment.

Re: SC502 with problems!
I have the service manual and have restored 2 of these SC502s. I have everything I need to work on these except the experience. I appreciate the idea of a vertical amp issue as that was not obvious

Re: SC502 with problems!
When something that worked has been sitting for a long time it's a good idea to work over all of the controls while turned on - lots of times through all states. All switches, all pots, an so on.

Re: SC502 with problems!
Hi , Barry It looks to me as though the vertical deflection is all off screen , up or down is hard to guess but what you are seeing appears to be just electron scatter from the bean hitting the top

Re: Is anyone out there still repairing refurbishing restoring 500 series oscilloscopes?
For the 2N2148 replacement try MJ15004G -- readily available from Mouser etc. 2N2148 data sheet indicates that it was used as an audio amplifier output transistor.

Re: Is anyone out there still repairing refurbishing restoring 500 series oscilloscopes?
Hey there. I have a decent collection of restored and working 500 series scopes. I think I'm missing only 2 or 3 of the plugins. Depending on what you have I may just take you up on the offer, sir.

Re: Is anyone out there still repairing refurbishing restoring 500 series oscilloscopes?
I restore and repair them whenever I find one that is interesting and at a price I am willing to pay. I use them too for troubleshooting and monitoring transmitter outputs. I am working to keep them

Re: Is anyone out there still repairing refurbishing restoring 500 series oscilloscopes?
Keith, I just took a quick look at the schematic. AFAICT, there is no electrical need for a germanium device there. It's a Ge device only because that was what was available at the time. Go ahead and

Re: Is anyone out there still repairing refurbishing restoring 500 series oscilloscopes?
Just to clarify, I am referring to analog tube scopes only.

Hi John, Again, great offer! Got to looking and I am now wondering if you have a 2N2148 transistor? This is a T0-3 Germanium PNP power transistor. Tek p/n 151-0137-00 My Tek 575 desperately needs

unable to adjust 7904 focus amplifier
HI all, I have an older 7904 (SN < B260000) that I've been happily using, but decided to check Z-axis calibration. Step 4k is where I've hit a wall, so basically right out of the gate. Voltage on TP

Re: Light filters and Implosion shields info needed
Jeff, Are you doing this for trying to cosmetically match the original appearances as closely as possible, or for utility and maintenance? Either way I'd recommend first providing the basic safety
