Re: ebay scammers to be aware of
That is believed to be the 'scope in question The original listing is https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/294643654575 which gives more info. Some discussion suggests that the NVRAM battery has been replaced

Re: OT: PID motor control
I guess it depends on your motor and mechanical system. Most of the time you can't instantaneously change the motor speed so you want the speed to ramp up to your desired speed and then ramp down to a

Hi Leo, How is the progress in your 2465B project? Still interested in the production date of this Heerenveen 2465B. Greetings, Egge Siert

Re: Inspecting 2465B A5 caps - Re: [TekScopes] 2445B "add" illuminated, no trace.
Hi Toby, Please take the time to remove one of those A5 SMD-Electrolytics (Diagional Cutter preferred). You will be surprised. Greetings, Egge Siert

7B70 - Fixed
I purchased a very inexpensive 7B70 in as-is condition. On arrival, it wouldn't trigger and I traced the problem to the first Tunnel Diode, VR304, (a 10mA TD) in the Trigger Generator. It appeared

Re: Tek 7L5 for Sale
I was excited to actually use the TinySA for something, and it worked great on the high band but when I switched to the low band, it was showing what looked like a very stable pulse train across the

Re: Intermittent TEK 475A issue
Jim, Check CR1372 and CR1379 for leakage. If leaky, replace with 1N4937. When one or more are leaky, it will give a too bright trace like you have. Also check the 22 meg resistor. It is likely out of

Re: A Tale of Two 7D14s
I have yet to check them out, but the waveforms I see are sufficiently identical to the ones in the manual, so I'm thinking they're ok. From what I know of the circuit: Inputs are conditioned, run

Re: Intermittent TEK 475A issue
How about a wild shot from the hip...? There is a (I believe) 47 uF tantalum on the unregulated 15 supply located under the shield cover over the hv section. Maybe it is trying to fail? Regards

Intermittent TEK 475A issue
Hello! New guy here. I have a 475A scope w/DM44 that I bought not working maybe 15 years ago. Replacing one of the power supply filter caps fixed it then. It's been great for occasional use since

Re: A Tale of Two 7D14s
Nope:? 7D14 of which I have one, and 7D15 of which I have several. Very different critters, 7D14 is about 500 Mhz, but not so versatile.? 7D15 is about 200 Mhz or so, and does period, events, and

Re: A Tale of Two 7D14s
Barry, I was incorrect about the 7D15 using 0367 types. They use 0402. They are the same transistor with a different number stamped on it. They are most likely leaky from C to E. The 0402 is only in a

Re: A Tale of Two 7D14s
Harvey, If you mean 7D15 and not 14, check the 151-0367-00 transistors for leakage between C and E. The leakage will check as a diode. Checking hfe will give way off results like 0 or way high like a

Re: Which deserves to live, 2445 or 2465?
I wouldn't have any second thoughts about using the 2445 as a parts mule for the 2465. The 2465 is just the more capable instrument. I'm still waiting on a new run of the RU800

I think that this IC was only produced in one plugin, and for only a particular run of serial numbers. I may have a problem with mine, I may not.? I'd be tempted to replace the whole board with an

Re: Tek 7L5 for Sale
Dave, I was also bidding on a 1L5 at one point, and it also went for (what I consider) real money. The 1L5 is more of an antique than the 7L5, though the 7L5 is pushing 50. The TinySA meets all my

Which deserves to live, 2445 or 2465?
I have restored and own a few tek 2465 scopes, now have a decision to make and looking for opinions. I have an otherwise good condition 2465 with U800 failure - power supply recapped a couple of years

Re: A Tale of Two 7D14s
Mark, I'll try that. It could just be a "perfect storm" of several parts contributing to the failure. Regarding one of these plugins, one of the custom ICs has one bad output (the 2^0 bit) which
