Re: Advice about buying a 7904
I *never* am happy with *any* machinery noise. I find it extermely irritating and distracting. Probably because my brain is programmed to analyze noise.
Can someone post a link to a photo of the

Re: Tek 4041 GPIB Controller
I do have a full set of development ROMs. My 4041 is in perfect condition,
and only needs healthy tapes to continue providing useful service.

Re: Advice about buying a 7904
If you are happy with the amount of noise you get from
your 7104, then a 7904A would be a good choice, as it has
the same fan, and a very similar power supply.
Anything you can use with your 7104

Re: Encouraging beginners: What are we accomplishing?
Yes, it's been found a full 52% of all people use that old 83% number, but the newer 87% number is the result of the latest research done on 71% of the population.
It's solid science.

Re: Advice about buying a 7904
I *have* a 7104 with 2x 7A29, 7B10 & 7B15 plugins. But the 7104 CRT is delicate and difficult and expensive to replace. So my reason for a 7904 is to get the best analog BW I can get without wear

Re: Advice about buying a 7904
First of course, you have to *have* them.? However, I've looked through a number of 7A19's, and there are special purpose fuses in there to protect the inputs.? I've seen several where the fuses

Re: Tek 4041 GPIB Controller
Dave Brown,
I found the NOS DC100A tapes on EBAY. Since these tapes are obsolete (over 20 years) - some of the sellers on EBAY have previously used tapes, some have new tapes still in factory

Re: Tek 4041 GPIB Controller
Dave Brown,
There are three ways to interface to the 4041 that I see from the documentation. #1 is the intended case for GPIB instrument tests, likely writing test results to the tape.

Re: A6302 Current Probe - AM503B 588 Error, No DC function

I have gone through many of these probes and the most common failure I have found is broken wires in the connector that mates to the amplifier.
Second most is issues with the hall effect

Re: Advice about buying a 7904
I think the modularity of the 7000 (and 5000 and 11000) series Tek scopes is a big part of their appeal and superiority over the HP scopes. How cool is it to be able to mix and match plug-ins to your

The 7104 Plug-Ins are rather rare and worth a lot more
than the 7904 counterparts.
