Re: Calibrating 1L5
Not sure it is as sophisticated as you think! everything done as you suggest, and will look as you also suggest @ D164 waveform. In some way the tail end of the dispersion linearity falls away - will

Re: Help needed with no trace no beamfinder on 465 (not b)
After reading Harvey's and Albert's recent posts, I went back to the first posts and realize only now that it isn't clear that the oscillator runs at all. I thought it did... but only generating a

Re: Help needed with no trace no beamfinder on 465 (not b)
Hi Keith, In your very first message you mentioned amplitude about 1.5 V pp at Q1418-collector. The pp amplitude at the base winding will be half or one third or so of that at the collector winding.

If you can get boards made and locate the relevant connectors, I can send you gerbers for the 7854 extenders. Dave

Timothy, What's with the multiple copies of your messages - it's tedious seeing seven copies of the same post! Do remember that most of us receive the posts by email so if you make a post using the

Re: Help needed with no trace no beamfinder on 465 (not b)
Hi Keith, In my opinion the voltages around Q1404 (E 3.24, B 3.88, C 3.25.) are more or less "normal" when there is no HV voltage. Q1404 is driven far into saturation (trying hard... as Raymond said).

Ancel, I searched the files section from March and I cannot find anything related to the 2465B caps. Can you send me the link or point me in the right direction. Thank you

Menahem, Thank you for taking the time to write that reply. I am a novice circuit designer and I am just beginning to learn the importance of things like ESR in a circuit and your post is the guidance
Re: Tek 7a13 mechanical to LED display conversion ? / 7ct1n user notes ?
I've never heard of that, but I suspect that it's much too much of a job, never had a mechanical 7A13, went for the digital ones. OK, the 7CT1N can be used in either the vertical or horizontal slot.

Thanks for that effort, but I'm not going to agree with some of your choices. I have sold hundreds of these kits to 24xx owners all over the world, and have paid close attention to the comments of my

Yes, silly question for part " a) " ... according to the &A13 TekWiki: " In the newer version, the zener-derived reference voltage is always positive. A 10-turn pot for coarse selection combines with

Tek 7a13 mechanical to LED display conversion ? / 7ct1n user notes ?
This may be two (2) silly questions: a) Is there a way to convert the 7a13 mechanical ( "veeder root" type ) display to the LED display ? Did Tektronix provide any field Tech notes for doing such ?

I've checked some of the components to the schematic right of Q1404 (Q1408, R1406, R1402, etc, and randomly most of the nearby components), at least in-circuit for continuity. Determining if a

Re: Help needed with no trace no beamfinder on 465 (not b)
They certainly do, at least as Q1404 is concerned! It's obvious that the circuit with Q1404 is trying hard to cause a higher (more negative) High Voltage. Did you check the circuits and components to

There's no shaping network. The varactor is linearized by a tuned-stub discriminator. FWIW, Dave Wise ________________________________________ Sent: Saturday, June 09, 2018 8:30 AM To:

Thank you, and everyone for helping! The easiest for me was to use a new PN2222a, because the leads were long enough. I replaced it with the original Q1404, resoldered R1401, powered up, then adjusted
