I have a 321SS .032” exhaust system that I built on an A-65 in a W-8 that is surplus. It is equal length with a carb heat muff. It may fit Continental through O-200 in W-8’s. $250 plus shipping at cost.

Please reply off forum,

Re: Oshkosh & Watertown

For anyone planning on Watertown:
Confirming dates are July 18-19. Departure for OSH early on 20th.
camping is available near the FBO. check in with FBO for location
Watertown motels are likely already booked.
Check Johnson Creek or anywhere along I94 for rooms
If you plan to fly to Oshkosh print out the notam and study it. Make up signs for desired parking
If you want to use 36 or 18 it is best to fly the low route at 90 kts or less. If you use the high route you may be told to land 9 or 27.
I hope to give a few rides. Preference to those who are near completion of a Tailwind.?

I hate to be critical but the EAA sponsored meal on Fri last year was not very good.?

Re: Activate membership

James,
That is great!? ?As far as I know there is no "membership" that you would have to activate.? ?We welcome all who are interested.? You will have to register on Groups.io and "join this group".? Then you will have access to all parts of the forum including pictures and the files section.? ?Here is a link that might help: ?/helpcenter/membersmanual/1/joining-groups/overview?single=true? ? ?Since you have already posted a message,? I think you may already be a member of the group.

If someone else on the forum has more specifics please let James know.

John,
I thought about closing off part of the intake air but don't really want to put any tape over the openings.? There are other options like a removable air dam but haven't got around to it.? I just try to not fly unless I have to when it is below 20 F.? ?

Thanks

Keith;
?To control your CHT’s You may want to think about closing off the intake air. This works better than adjusting the out flow of air. It also helps with cooling drag.

Re: Essential documents for TW building?

Yes, acknowledged . . . but here’s the problem:? If one hasn’t updated his password in the timeframe Groups.io wants, a log in attempt is rejected, and to recover/renew one’s password Groups.io requires 2FA to deliver a code to insure the log-in is approved by the right person (me in this case).? Groups.io does this only through the app “Authenticator”.? I could ty to set up another account with Groups.io, but they will then tell me an account under my email address already exists, and then request a password – which of course I have, but its “use by date” has passed, which is the original problem.? So I’m stuck right back where I started, unless I want to let Authenticator mess with all my accounts, as it seems to be all or nothing with regard to what Authenticator grabs and sets up with 2FA – unless I’m very much mistaken, which is possible, of course, but I don’t see how.? I already have all the 2FA set up for all my other accounts, but not with Authenticator.? I don’t want to uproot all of that.? A gracious soul from our Tailwinds group (Dan) has sent me a file containing the compendium, and I think that’s really all I want for now.? Thanks.

No, two-factor authentication is not required for Groups.io sign in;?it is an optional feature that you can enable to add an extra layer of security to your account, but you can still log in with just your email and password if you choose not to set it up.?

Key points about Groups.io 2FA:

  • Optional:?You can choose to enable two-factor authentication on your Groups.io account.?
  • Added security:?Enabling 2FA provides an extra layer of protection for your account.?
  • Access method:?If you set up 2FA, you will need to provide both your password and a verification code (usually sent to your phone) to log in.?

You will want to print off the above Swiss Compendium. It is located on this forum in the files section.? Print on both sides of the paper.?

The information is organized by sections/parts of the plane to include weight and balance and operation information.? Hilite and index information pertaining to your build because you will refer to it regularly.

Re: Fabric related

So I think I figured out my issue and have it solid at this time! I'm double covering and stewarts has you use 3 to 1 glue water at this point to seal fabric. In this case I had to add undiluted glue at this point, giving a much solid bond that don't slip when shrinking. The bond w the diluted glue was not holding!?

Re: carb heat door

since mine is a tri-gear I couldn't get Brians filter system to work for me so I made this.......a bit complicated and non filtered but it works for me.
