No post logging after 2019-12-31
Hi
Please note, if you haven't done it already, that you cannot post log after 2019-12-31 due to a date check function I designed more than 28 years ago. I cannot compile TACLog.exe any longer but I will se if I can hack the TACLog.exe file - but no promise. If you run into this problem post log with a data before 2019-12-31 and then edit the .dat file afterwards. Bo www.rudius.net/oz2m :: www.rfzero.net |

I am still happy and using TacLog. Using 1995 version, but saw a problem with E7 recognised as FRj I found this back in the old files. Now I installed tl2.02 as you mentioned ,but I still have E7 recogniced as FRj I removed all the files except the log and rebuilt the other info in tl202 and still it remains Did make a new map with TL202. Don't want to change too much because I did all kind of settings in 1995 long time ago and don't know anymore how to set it again. Don't want to loose it as I am happy how it works now. Can I update/modify the DXC file ?? Also for future changes .. Did not work them and did not try what happens e.g. with 4O prefix ? 73 Arie / PC7M ----- Original Message -----

The access to the ports is a problem under all Win NT, 2000 and XP versions. But it will work under Win98. I use that myself. So WVK and voice messages should work. Please make sure that you have the latest WVK. There was many bugs in the older versions. There is also a nice troubleshooting guide if it still should fail. I must admit that I do not know XP. Just though that there was such a possibility also. Perhaps another adjustment tool? Voice keyer under pure DOS only works with SB cards no clones no matter how compatible. Well, you hit on a weak spot Mike. Let me answer as good as I can in backwards order. Hand made keying: The problem in any Windows is that timing is no longer controlled by the application running but the OS unlike in DOS. The problem is further enhanced since TACLog is a DOS program that like all DOS programs take all resources or as much as they can get. So when timing is controlled by the OS and TACLog/DOS-prgs. attempts to take control is is bound to fail. You may improve the hand made keying slightly by tuning on the idle slider in the properties if you create a PIF file. Also a faster PC should help. But it will probably never sound like a propper keyer. Sorry TACLog hangs: This is a problem for all programs trying to write directly to any port in WinNT, 2000 or XP. The kernel does not permit this. A device driver is needed to do this that again is though to get to interwork with a DOS program. See also the TACLog FAQ. 73 Bo, OZ2M ----- Original Message -----
