Information you¡¯ll need
Hi everyone,
Congratulations again on your advancement. You¡¯ll want to download or print and scan a contract and a judge¡¯s bill for your use. When I come to Hong Kong in August, I¡¯ll bring a bunch to give you. You¡¯ll also want the evaluation form that I think I sent out a few weeks ago. I can resend that if you don¡¯t have it. ? You¡¯ll need to send me your paperwork after you judge to be reviewed. Remember, if the master clerk or your clerk brings you back a a page to be corrected, make sure that correction gets put on your yellow copy, also.? For your judge¡¯s bill: Mileage is .655 per mile, so you¡¯ll need to figure that. You charge mileage to and from your home to the hotel/show if driving, and home/airport if flying. Remember to charge both ways! Your judging fee is .50 US dollar per cat entered.? Meals- dinner the night before the show, breakfast, dinner the day of the show, breakfast the day after the show if you are traveling home that day. Obviously, if there is breakfast included with your room or you attend a club dinner, you¡¯d wouldn¡¯t need to put this on your bill. My feelings on club dinners are that I attend them out of respect for the club that invited me.? They¡¯re fun anyway, lol! Parking at the airport, hotel, or show facility should go on your bill? Airfare is often paid in advance, but if not, it goes on your bill Tolls and tips may also be put on your bill.? If you have any questions about bills, please let me know.? Make sure you return contracts and respond to invitations in a timely manner.? You will receive an invitation to the judges email list, probably from Vicki Nye. I will also send a t3 email list invitation to the European Associate judges for communication purposes.? If you plan to attend the International show in October, you may want to plan on attending the full BAOS, or at least the handling portion. It will give you some one on one time with the instructors, and some handling of breeds you may not have seen or handled.? I¡¯m sure I¡¯ll think of more!? Anne |
Several things
Hi everyone,
Hope you are all well. Here¡¯s a couple reminders and other information.? T3 Hong Kong trainees, you are up for advancement by the board at tonight¡¯s meeting. You will receive official results of this from Rachel Anger, so be looking for that. I¡¯m very proud of all you have accomplished.? All associate judges, please remember to be sending me your paperwork, and be sure the clubs are sending your evaluations to me, also.? In reviewing paperwork, the most common errors appear to be in transferring cats from one class to another. We will be working on a review session on this, but in the meantime, if you aren¡¯t sure of where to move the entry, please ask another judge at the show before the start of judging. I¡¯m here to answer any questions you have, too! We¡¯ve had some complaints from exhibitors regarding rewarding ¡°round headed¡± Ragdolls. Although these cats may not have round heads, but the coat makes it look that way, it¡¯s possible that those cats are less correct than their competition. Please be sure that you are using cats that meet the current CFA standards, and not those that are perhaps in fashion at the time. If the standard needs to be changed, this would be through your breed council.? As always, please contact me if you have questions or issues. I hope to see you all in person soon! Anne Mathis? |
Judging areas
Hi everyone,
Just a reminder that judging program ?rule 4.5 states that ¡°an associate judge is licensed only as a single specialty associate judge, and only in his/her designated geographic area, as determined where the application was completed and approved¡±. This means that Chinese Associates may only judge in China, Team 2 Asia in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand, T3 Hong Kong only in Hong Kong, and T3 South Korea only there, also. There seems to have been some confusion about that. If you have any questions, please let me know.? Anne Mathis |

Final test
Hi everyone,
Attached is your final test, which I will need returned to me by March 13. Note that the breed sheet used is outdated, but that doesn¡¯t affect the answers, as there is only one Exotic breed winner. I will be reviewing your videos today and tomorrow, and will let you know my thoughts. My pet sitter had put my pad with your breed test results in such a safe place while ?I was away in January that I just found it, so I will also send you your results on this this week. Everyone passed those tests, but I¡¯ll let you know your incorrect answers, so you can look them up before you are in the ring. If you have any questions, please let me know.? Good luck! New evaluation form
Hi Everyone,
We have a new evaluation form that you should be giving to clubs at your shows. Please have them complete it and give it to the master clerk or show manager to email to me. Also, please make sure your make corrections to your paperwork on both the white and yellow copies. You will need to submit at least ten error free show¡¯s paperwork to opt out of some of the requirements if you apply to the regular program.? If you have any questions, please let me know. Keep up the good work! Anne Mathis |
Permission for judging Thai Cat on 2 Apr23
Info I¡¯ll need for a fun show Thanks, Anne ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Vicki Nye <tvnye@...> Date: Mon, Feb 27, 2023 at 4:51 PM Subject: Re: Permission for judging Thai Cat on 2 Apr23 To: Anne Mathis <annekevinmathis@...> Hi Anne: Just a thought.? I would send them this section of the Judging Program Rules to make sure they know it¡¯s their?responsibility to?comply ? ? ? ? ? ??FUN SHOW:? A show that is held in conjunction with a CFA licensed show or a stand-alone, aligned with another cat organization. The fun show must not score the entrants or place any titles on the cats participating, other then for awards at that specific show. No ring type or judge type can be designated. It is the responsibility of the CFA judge accepting a fun show assignment to investigate the fun show format to ensure it aligns with the above criteria, including scoring, ring type or judge type designations. Reminders
Hi everyone,
We have been reviewing paperwork for a couple months now, and there are some errors that are popping up. Most of the errors ?should be caught by your clerk or the master clerk, but that doesn¡¯t seem to be happening, so ultimately the responsibility is yours. You¡¯ll need error free paperwork to count toward an application to the regular program if that is your goal. Please let me know if you have any questions. I¡¯m happy to do a paperwork refresher if you think you need one.? Anne 1. Diagonal line on absent cats with ¡°A¡± in the TR TO Column 2. Initial any and all corrections 3. Be careful about transfers.? Write the class number they are transferring to in the right place and is the correct class.? DO not say TR TO HHP or to Male or to Female.? Always Write the correct class number. Move them to the correct place.? Write the color/pattern under the cat¡¯s number. 4. Mechanics: Check all paperwork to be sure the work is correct. |
Next handling
Hi everyone,
I¡¯m not sure when the next show is coming up, but what I need for what will likely be your last video session is handling of at least 5 cats, preferably of several different body styles, and then presentation of a final where you take the cats out and present them to the audience using words from the standard. In the most recent videos I¡¯ve watched, everyone¡¯s handling has improved and looks good. Using words from the standard in a final is what every trainee in the regular and associate program struggles with. Everyone has improved there, but more would be better.? Try to talk about at least three features of the cat, using phrases that make the exhibitors know that you understand the standard.? For example, in a breed like the Aby, you would certainly want to talk about the ticking and the color. In a Birman, the gloves and laces, and in a Maine Coon, the long, rectangular body and the shag coat should probably be mentioned. Good luck! I know you¡¯ll make us proud. We can see the finish line! Re: Information for CFA
If you have a good head shot photo, that would be helpful always. This is for an associate portion of the judge¡¯s part of the website. Phone number, also, please.? Thanks Anne On Tue, Feb 21, 2023 at 10:45 AM Anne Mathis via <annekevinmathis=[email protected]> wrote: Hi everyone, |
