I¡¯ve heard of owners raising the boom up to a foot to accommodate their height and/or dodger. The mainsail foot at the minimum will need some work or if you need a new main the loft can work out the new dimensions.
Hi! I think that may be a good idea, but have not tried. I would be concerned about put more holes in the mast at a fairly high load area. I shorten the topping lift when motoring. I am very nervous sailing dead down wind, since the boom is in a nice height to whack someone good!
