Re: Owners List http://www.tartanowners.org/v6/profiles.phtml

Projects this week are...
I've decided to paint the winch bases, ports, and stanchion bases
with an aluminum based paint called aluthane, nothing... and I mean
nothing will remove it from my hands so hopefully it will hold up,...
It's available from

Excellent company.. the owner emailed me back within 24 hours with
advice and they even included a copy of this old boat with my order.
I also got 3 gals of no blush epoxy to prime the deck and hull pior to
painting.
Most of the exterior wood has been sanded down and I'm currently
researching hull paints... I'm about 90% convinced to use system 3
water based poly... I remember Peter Youngblood saying how much he
like it on the old site... For the non skid I'm thinking of using a
commercial company that applies non skid to truck beds... For around
$600 they will come to the house and apply the stuff, I believe they
have a tan color... might be a little too rough... still more research
to do.. We just had a new addition to the family so my original budget
has been reduced, I may have to hold of on the interior work until
next year... I'm hoping to splash sometime in August... fortunately I
have the Oday 22 to tide me over til then..
next week I think I may have to remove the centerboard, i'm concerned
about the pennant and the bottom show some delam... involves
digging a rather large hole and the ground is only now starting to thaw...
again bravo on the new site..
