I've recently gotten into sailing with the purchase of a Minifish.
I've found this group very beneficial in helping me learn about the
Sunfish and similar boats. Not knowing much about rigging and
setting-up my Minifish, I've relied on the Minifish Set-up file
posted in the Sunfish Group files section.
What is not clear to me is the direction the daggerboard is inserted
in the slot in the deck. The instructions say that "It is important
that the board be inserted with the straight edge facing aft." The
picture that accompanies that statement shows the curved side being
placed facing aft. To confuse me further, the page containing the
specifications of the boat has a drawing showing the profile of the
boat. On this drawing, the daggerboard is shown with the curved or
rounded side towards the bow and the straight side that ends with a
90 degree corner is towards the stern.
Can any fish owner help me by letting me know what is the correct
way the daggerboard should be facing?
