It's a 1972 or 74 with an a metal bailer that used to have a brass screw-in plug in the footwell. ?I'm finding there is no standard plastic plumbing connectors at my hardware store that fit the thread or the diameter of the original. ?So i'm hearing it is one inch diameter by 16 threads per inch.
I have a new plan. ? I have some casting silicone putty and resin, a small kit usually for casting jewelry. I'll try to make a mold of the threaded tube in the flexible silicone, then cast a positive in resin. ?If the resin fits, I'll cast it again using thinned 2-part JB Weld, which is pretty darned tough. ?And i'll still have it before the real thing arrives from the dealership, darn it.

Yeah, that's not efficient. ?I did that tonight, bought 4 pieces that I thought might work, added up to an hour's time and almost twenty bucks and only the $1.19 rubber cork worked. But I want better than a rubber cork. Surely, some Sunfish owner out there knows the size and threads per inch for the brass cap or the plastic one with the flip-top?

Buy one of each size, then return the one that does not fit. They are cheap.
