I think what he is asking for is on an old metal bailer what the diameter is of the cap. Since it is different than the newer plastic ones. Dealers aren’t the issue laser performance is the issue can’t get parts to dealers.?

Hi Mark,
What year is your SF ??
The difference is mainly in the length of the center threaded part that comes up from the hulls bottom. The two sizes have to do with the thickness between the outer and enter hull (cockpit)
I have had good luck by simply reducing that length.. (cutting off what isn't needed to secure the interior cap to the hull). Naturally, a clean cut, when needed, should be attempted.
For reasons that I don't quite understand, these bailers have become difficult for dealers to keep in stock.
I hope this helps mate.

Yeah, that's not efficient.? I did that tonight, bought 4 pieces that I thought might work, added up to an hour's time and almost twenty bucks and only the $1.19 rubber cork worked. But I want better than a rubber cork. Surely, some Sunfish owner out there knows the size and threads per inch for the brass cap or the plastic one with the flip-top?

Buy one of each size, then return the one that does not fit. They are cheap.
