The funny 38-degree setting is for a trick that uses the tilted square blank?as a spacer to set the fence
This stunt was originally described in my email of 6:18 PM (EDT) yesterday, about laying one flat of the square blank against a 45-degree blade (not turned on) in order to space the fence for an octagon.
Then James asked me to get cute and calculate a blade tilt to do that for 12 sides instead.
