Are you using an OEM Subaru oil filter??

The ej22 and Svx both take heavier oil than the EJ25. 10w40 if my memory is correct. I¡¯ve had oil light issues on both of those engines when run on 5w30.?

Swap to heavier oil and I suspect your issue will go away and your motor will be happy.?
