Mine is an 85 Tintop, with EJ22 motor and Subie A/C compressor.? It was diagnosed as some small leak in Evaporator.? This is the HUGE thing in an 85 Tintop that hangs behind driver compartment.? A/C technician did not want to approach, too much risk for brittle plastic breakage.? Most likely to my thinking, the problem is a simple O-Ring, not the Evaporator coils.? So...I am going to build with plywood....a rig to "gently" remove and lower brittle plastic housing from around interior Evaporator.? Replace O-Ring.? If brittle plastic on housing cracks....no problem...I am skilled with fiberglass repair.? But this is my last shot at this.? Would be fun to work though!

Rob,
? I find that Legacys of that era are getting hard to find in wrecking yards.? If you find one with the compressor, you should get the mounting bracket with it.? I don't remember the details, but I recall that there are subtle differences in the compressor mounting that can be a problem.
? Be sure to note carefully what year car the parts came from.
