Re: 2006 EJ25 in a 91 2WD Westy with auto tranny

05 first year (electronic gas pedal), 04 is the last year with the Impreza black plastic air plenum.

Typical intake until 05

Typical intake after 04

This is one reason that Hans from Vanaru design his own part.
We had it with the current "part provider" 2 years ago, we had to modified everything to fit late engine.

This was Hans first prototype:

(no more welding on the 2 side mount)

Does anyone know what year the taller engines appeared? Is the difference in the intake assembly?

1. The problem is that the later 2.5 is ~2" taller than its predecessor.

2. Using the KEP Syncro mount rather than the 2wd mount should solve the

problem, since the Syncro sits 2" lower.

3. Check with Hobert to verify. Having been in the business some 44

years now, previously a rocket engineer, I think he knows what he's doing.

4. Suck filter off.

1. That completely sucks that you will have to use 2 in. spacers. 2.
That completely sucks that the manufacturer of that mount did not
make you aware of that fact in a responsible manner. 3. Has it
become common practice to sell engine mounts that are incomplete? I
understand these are kits and require on-site engineering now and
then but WOW.
