It doesn't matter if you have a manual trans in the Vanagon, but I think
the ECU needs to match the engine and wiring harness. In other words,
the ECU's differ slightly depending on whether they CAME from an auto or
a manual. It probably only becomes significant if you are trying to
eliminate all the Suby error reports. See:
