Reducing sump capacity requires checking the oil level more often if the
engine is consuming it. The external cooler will not help. The oil should
be changed more often unless the cooler replaces the quart or so to the
system which it will not. The disadvantage is, keeping the oil cold causes
sludge to build up.

What about adding an external oil cooler to increase capacity? Would that
make a difference, or, is the idea that you want more oil floating around
in
the sump?
A group purchase on the harness is also something I'd be interested in. Is
that possible with all the variations in Subaru wiring I've heard about?
Bravo to warren for checking into this.
