Selling my Heavy 10x36
OrenT
I have a Heavy 10 with a 36¡± bed, large through hole, set up for C collets. ?Has a 3-jaw chuck on it. Mounted on the Southbend base.? I will get photos asap? Has been in storage for 3 years, protected from weather. Was working fine before moving it into storage. ? I had thought about opening my gunsmithing business in my new location but have decided against it. ? Not certain what a fair price would be, researching that. ? Whoever buys it is responsible for moving, loading and transporting it. ? OrenT? |

That's right! Wave bloody meat in front of carnivores! If you take Paypal, I might be interested, too! ;)? Bill in OKC William R. Meyers, MSgt, USAF(Ret.) The only reason I know anything is because I've done it wrong enough times to START to know better. Expect in one hand, expectorate in the other. See which one gets full first.

I better ask how much you want for it. I'm liable to get killed if I bring another one home, since my wife bought the first one for me for Christmas. But maybe I can persuade her it's spare parts.?
I got the one I have from Bill Hinkle in 2018, IIRC. Still needs a buttload of work.? Bill in OKC <------ Actually, Del City, but only residents have ever heard about it unless they drove by the exits for it.? |
Oren, did you send me some photos yesterday? I have this vague memory of dumping something from my spam folder that had a link to photos in it, when I was in a rush yesterday. I would like to come out and see your lathe, but I've been running a fever the past couple of days, don't think I want to be sharing it just yet.?
Also, have you had a chance to think about what you want for it. Do you know when it was made? And how long is the bed. I know you said 36", but is that the whole machine or the working length of the bed? Single or double tumbler gear box, or change gears? One I have is 1941 vintage, with a 4-1/2' bed. Gives it about 30" working length IIRC. Not that I've ever seen it work, but I got it cheap when Bill H. realized he wasn't going to live long enough to get it back running again.? Bill in OKC |
