One thing that helps me a ton when using a mic is if I'm measuring loose parts I put my mic in my Panavise the one with the heavy base . I'm better at measuring things with a mic when their in a chuck

Yea all my lathes are screw on chucks . I did the spigot shortening on the chucks for the SB , but plan to also do that on the Enco when I finally get my room done & all setup . ??? ??? animal

I did the same thing, turned the spigot way down to bring the collet right up to the spindle. Did the same for the 4-jaw. Figured getting that big weight closer to the spindle bearings was a good

I went for er40 because I already had 3c for the SB9, and wanted to de able to hold larger sizes. When I got my SB13, it had 5C, but I decided to make an ER chuck for it anyway. ?ER has the advantage
