I have bxa tool holders. I have a 13” SouthBend turret lathe. I made all my tool holders including Aloris to 3/4” openings. I used a half inch carbide two flute endmill And had no problem.

They are hardened. You will have to use a surface grinder to modify it. 1/8 would not be a major weakening of the holder. BXA is a bit large for a 10k lathe. AXA would have been a better choice. AXA
