Jim, I like the models made by Stuart from England. They are very
well designed and cast. Come complete with all materials necessary
to make. They are however somewhat expensive. I bought mine from
Coles in California. Coles also sells castings from other companies
and some of them look very nice. Try getting a catalog. I am
currently developing my own patterns for a basic steam mill engine.
And as I mentioned in my intro message I hope to do some metal
casting on my own. Also we have both a brass foundry and a couple of
places to get cast iron castings done from ones own patterns. A
typical 4" flywheel in cast iron costs about $10.
