Hello all. I am looking for a source for HSS inserts to fit a particular lathe tool I bought not long ago from Shars. The tool (MWLN Tri-lock tool) came with a carbide insert (WNMG 332) but no matter what I do I can't get a decent cut with it. Am hoping that switching to a HSS insert will improve the situation considering the fact that carbide is really intended for speeds a little higher than my South Bend 10 heavy is made for. Shars told me that they do not carry any HSS inserts that will fit that tool. And I have been looking at other sources to no avail. Although I don't really know a good way to search. You can't search for "WNMG 332" cause you then come up with the above listed carbide insert. Thought I'd bounce it off of you nice folks and maybe somebody has a source I don't know about.
