Today I learned ...

That doesn't work on my iPhone 13; what I get from "Accio maps" is a list of suggested websites, one of which is in Spanish or Portuguese, one is a link to an error page saying that the Second Life game can't find the "Accio" region in the game maps, and the Harry Potter Wiki page on the 'Summoning Charm.'

Still, I'm always up for strange web searches that have the potential to come up with something amusing. I remember some years ago, there were a couple of competing activities going on; one was to come up with a short search phrase that had as few results as possible (ideally only one), and the other was to put in pairs of unrelated words to see what came up. Something that came out of the latter one is the "I Googled <some search term>. Was not disappointed." meme. You can see a lot of those by doing an image search for "was not disappointed."

I got it to work, sometimes.? I think it¡¯s more that Siri &I don¡¯t get along all that well

1. No British accent. Although I was born in the vicinity of Anfield (near Liverpool), I wasn't there during the years I picked up most of my language skills.
2. I had no idea it would also work on Android.
3. I have a friend for whom it didn't work, either. I'm now wondering (since I just upgraded this week from a broken iPhone 7 Plus) whether it's a relatively new feature.

I learned of this while watching a YT video about little-known Siri capabilities from a British tech channel, and when I saw that this was thrown in a a "bonus," I had to try it immediately.?Amusingly, when I said, "Hey, Siri ... lumos," my phone did nothing.?My iPad, on the other hand, which was across the room, did respond and light up.

At least, I learned how to invoke Siri on my new phone.?

On Android, you can 'use' other spells, and get some pretty fun responses. For example, I said, "Hey Googlle, Avada Kedavra", and my phone responded with "Expelliarmus!". Crucio responded with, "Ouch."?

It works on android by saying lumos but not now... half way is a start?

you can say "Lumos" to turn your IOS or Android cellphones flashlight on and say "Nox" to turn it off... Yeah I used that to my advantage to thoroughly freak out my adoptive sisters grandkids who are major Harry Potter fans lol but once they learned that it was possible they even had me program their google home mini's to respond to those commands to turn their lights on and off now all you can hear at night is either Lumos or Nox... I think I created a monster there....

I just tried this, on my old iPhone 6S and it worked just fine..

'Siri Lumos' and 'Siri Nox' work fine. ?With my Siri saying she turned on the light then turned it off with the Box. ?^_^
