Fic search

 

I remember reading a HP fic last January where Harry was removed from the Dursleys and one result was that Lily's protection was actively attacking Tom's soul fragment in Harry's scar. It was prevented from doing so because of the way Dumbledore anchored the blood wards at Privet Drive.
 

This has come up a few times, the one I remember being a lot more recent than Jan 2023, so probably not the one you are looking for.

But to find the one you want, we need more details or scenes.

Most recent I read with a variation of this was "Life after?Death" by birdwoman95, published August 2023

Which work do you remember, even if more recent?

A person on another forum has found the fic for me.

It is Harry Potter and the Unexpected Friend by CaskettFan5. The particular scene is

Summary from ff.net: During Chamber of Secrets, Harry finds a friend in someone he'd never thought about before. That was the beginning of an experience that opened his eyes to what he had been missing.

It is a Harry/Daphne pairing.
